I see no binutils 2.29.1 release. At https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/binutils/, 2.29 is
the latest release.
Even if there is a 2.29.1 or development tree which fixes the issue, the
correct resolution is surely "FIXED" and not "WORKSFORME". You've said yourself
that it fails with 2.29, it doesn't "work". Thanks.
