If it's intentional, then I don't really have a problem with it. This is just something I noticed while trying to demonstrate the issue with objcopy, which is the main concern. However, it it's intentional, then why does GNU ld produce them on sparc? Why is this different on a per-platform basis, rather than behaving uniformly on all platforms?
