Using c++ cross compiler in path same issue as PR ld/33784 In your setup, if /build/gas/s390x-linux-gnu/binutils/objdump --sframe tmpdir/StatePlaying.o shows SFRAME_VERSION_2, then a "stale" gas is being picked up.
