            Bug ID: 33905
Summary: objdump 2.42 doesn't appear to handle RISC-V
                    extensions
           Product: binutils
           Version: 2.42
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: binutils
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: ghost at major2nd dot com
  Target Milestone: ---

Bug #31926 says "RISC-V extensions incorrectly disassembled without -march",
but that's in the context of gdb, not command-line objdump. I tried both -m and
-M, and various other switches, but was unable to find any way to tell objdump
that I want it to recognize all the extensions in the RVA22 profile, or any
specific extensions at all, beyond the ones included in RV64GC. I don't know
whether this is because objdump just doesn't know about the extensions, or
whether its "help" is broken and unable to tell me which ones are supported and
how to select them, but at least one of these seems to be the case. For a test
case, just assemble any RV64 source file that e.g. uses a Zbb extension like
rori.

The objdump version I used was /usr/riscv64-linux-gnu/bin/objdump 2.42, which
my current Linux system (Ubuntu, uname -r = 6.8.0-90-generic) says is the most
recent one.
