            Bug ID: 33995
Summary: cc1: warnings being treated as errors causes compile
                    failure
           Product: binutils
           Version: 2.46
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: binutils
Assignee: unassigned at sourceware dot org
Reporter: dclarke at blastwave dot org
  Target Milestone: ---

This is a bit of a tough chicken and egg situation where I want a newer
compiler but can not get there without newer binutils. Which I can not
seem to compile on this platform. I am not even sure if binutils *can*
be compiled on this platform.

This is OpenBSD 7.8 on a DEC Alpha machine. Yes really. The processor
is a 21164 and the machine has 1 GB of memory and plenty of disk space.

I can compile and test libGMP and libMPFR and the new ( to be released
in a few days ) libMPC. All perfect. The compiler that I have is ye old
GCC 4.2.1 with ld and as from binutils 2.17. That is what ships in the
most recent OpenBSD 7.8 on the DEC Alpha and even on new SPARC S7.

I have tried a few variations of CFLAGS and I always get this :

So that is a show stopper.

The configuration was :

Not sure what the new step is to get past this. Perhaps I need to go
