--- Comment #1 from Sourceware Commits <cvs-commit at gcc dot gnu.org> --- The master branch has been updated by David Faust <[email protected]>: https://sourceware.org/git/gitweb.cgi?p=binutils-gdb.git;h=44bc3b1dc42a8b5a3b472320eda15cc440b66966 commit 44bc3b1dc42a8b5a3b472320eda15cc440b66966 Author: David Faust <[email protected]> Date: Fri Oct 23 12:28:24 2026 -0700 bpf: add ISA v5 and uhmul, shmul instructions [PR34880] The Linux kernel is introducing two new instructions, UHMUL and SHMUL, as the debut instructions of the new BPF ISA version 5. These instructions are the unsigned and signed high-half 64-bit multiply, respectively, and are adopted from the Solana BPF variant. The new instructions are encoded as variants of the ALU64 MUL instruction, distinguished by setting the otherwise-unused offset16 field of the instruction to 1 (UHMUL) or 2 (SHMUL). This patch adds ISA v5 and support for the new instructions. As is custom for BPF, the default ISA selected by the assembler and disassembler is updated to the latest, now v5.
