Hi Padraig!
You've probably seen it, but others might not know that
GNU rm has had the --preserve-root option since coreutils-5.1.0.
$ rm --help |grep e-ro
--no-preserve-root do not treat `/' specially (the default)
--preserve-root fail to operate recursively on `/'
As soon as POSIX is changed, GNU rm's default will be changed to match.
