I checked in the archives (egroups) and found someone else who has had the same

As far as I can see this posting never rcvd a reply.

I am experiencing the same problem using the :server: method.
Server is 1.10 on Solaris 2.6
Client is 1.10 on Windows NT (sp4?)
This is the MSVC built standard distribution.

I did look through the code and I /think/ that it always creates the CVS admin
directories on export and then cleans them up afterwards.

I thought I would try to debug it. So I built the 1.10.7 source with
cygwin (I don't have the horsepower nor diskspace to run Developer Studio).
I then discovered that :server: mode is NOT supported in cygwin.

So my second question is:
Why is :server: method not supported when built with cygwin?

I'm just getting to grips with cygwin, but I definitely get the impression that
it should support the functionality required for CVs client access using
:server: method.
