Don't worry. If I do this, I'll include an option to _activate_ it. Just
like the '--verify-input-size' option is implemented now. The main task
of ddrescue is to copy data. Safeguards are nice but secondary.
You would be stuck relying on an outside program, but they would be
likely to give proper results as they have been around awhile.
Using an external program from ddrescue seems too complicated. Maybe all
this just finishes as some recommendations in the manual.
OTOH, the external program to use could be provided as an argument to
the activating option, like in '--show-serial-number=hdparm'

Looks nice, but getting the partitions can be a problem, and they will
probably show identical after the first run.
