Mac users don't have to have twice the space, because you can use the rescued image with a shadow file. Best of both worlds: your rescue file will remain intact (but to be sure, lock it), and you can play with a writable disk image, because all modifications will go into the shadow file:
Normal usage: hdiutil attach /MacHD.dmg -shadow /MacHD.dmg.shadow Super-safe usage, use Disk Utility to mount: hdiutil attach -readonly -noverify -nomount /MacHD.dmg -shadow /MacHD.dmg.shadow koll On 2015.05.07. 3:18, "Robert Backhaus" <[email protected]> wrote: >You really need twice the disk's capacity as free space, because you will >want to work on a copy of your recovered image file when you have it. _______________________________________________ Bug-ddrescue mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-ddrescue
