Hi,

It's good to hear that.

However I'm surprised that git is not suitable for porting from CVS.
Yesterday I have ported the repository to git using:
git cvsimport -C global-git global

It took about an hour, but there were no errors and it seems everything
went fine. Maybe you should give it a try?
