I reckon you could get away with a longer interval than once a second. Does a 0-ply rollout take less than that. Two ply rollouts certainly take a lot longer. The 2-ply rollout I have on at the moment is taking at least 30 seconds per play. Of course, there is a diminishing increase in effiency as the update time increases.
