If you import MAT files in gnubg, you probably have noticed that various
software and online sites vary in how they export to this format.
Some (gnubg, jellyfish, javafibs) put the bottom player's (usually yours)
moves in the left column of the mat file, other (xg, bgblitz2go, shg) put
them in the right column, dailygammon even does one or the other randomly.
As a consequence, one often has to use the "Game|Swap players" command to
show the imported match correctly.
I have added a "set aliases <nickname1>:<nickname2>:<etc...>" command to
the CLI to give a list on account names that should always be imported as
player 1 (the bottom player). I'm not sure how to include this in the GUI
so it may not be added there soon.
If you set that to the list of your shg, dailygammon, etc... accounts,
these matches should be not be imported upside down any more.
I'd be interested by feedback on this. Isn't the term "aliases" too
misleading ? Is ':' as a separator ok ? The length of the parameter is
limited to 63 characters ; is this enough ? Are there sites or software
that allow strange user names that could cause issues ? etc...
