Mark!

I don't think building on Linux systems is really difficult. I rather
suggest that you try to build it from the source at your system, and then
start a new thread here if you get into trouble.

short (untested) sketch of what you need to do:

Get the source code:
Either
 - CVS: cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonym...@cvs.savannah.gnu.org: /sources/gnubg
co gnubg
 - Tarball: tar zxvf gnubg-release-1.0xxxx.-sources.tar.gz

cd gnubg
./autogen.sh
PYTHONWARNINGS=ignore ./configure --prefix=/usr/local
--bindir=/usr/local/bin --sysconfdir=/etc --mandir=/usr/share/man
make
sudo make install

You may have to install some developer tools and libraries before you
start. You probably need GTK developer libraries, and of course a C
compiler (like GCC) and some of the basic developer tools like make aud
automake/autoconf etc. Check the package manager of your distribution.
