Perhaps you can refresh my > memory about the diffutils issue? No issue that I'm aware of. You wanted to try porting diffutils to my bootstrap script yourself, since it is "a small package, and a way off from release" to give yourself a better handle on how it works than just checking out all the packages I did already and watching ./bootstrap run to completion. The list of packages I've provided bootstrap.conf files for already is further back up the thread, along with commentary. I got stuck on tar, and gave up easily since there are already a good selection of bootstrap.conf files that I've created for other packages that are sufficiently different in their characteristics to persuade myself that I have all the bases covered. Perhaps you were thinking of that. Cheers, -- Gary V. Vaughan (gary AT gnu DOT org)
