That function is complex, so I can't say this is the only problem in it
for certain. But it fixes the test case that the original reporter sent.
They were fuzzing the 'logrotate' program and had many trailing slashes
in a configuration that was passed to glob().

I'm surprised that it did not get found until 2023, but I guess you
would never purposely type this many trailing '/' characters.
