It would be nice to find out why it core dumped to try to avoid it in the future. But
perhaps, some other time...
=================== BUG #4829: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================
Submitted by: fpraca Project: GNUstep
Submitted on: Mon 08/18/2003 at 14:30
Category: Gui/AppKit Severity: 5 - Major
Bug Group: Bug Resolution: Fixed
Assigned to: fedor Status: Closed
Summary: make_services causes a core dump on FreeBSD 4.8
Original Submission: Under FreeBSD 4.8, with the cvs version of core, make_services
crashes with a core dump (signal 11). In fact, every application using GUI seem to
crash the same way (I tested Affiche.app, GNUMail.app, ImageViewer.app). Rebuilding
the whole core and reinstalling it (after erasing the /usr/local/GNUstep directory)
does'nt solve the problem.
Additionnaly, gdomap uses a lot of CPU (allmost 90%). However, applications without
gui using DO seem to work.
Thanks for investigating.

First, make_services crashed because of an old .GNUstepAppList in
GNUstep/Library/Services of the user home. The format changed and it was impossible to
call deserializePropertyListFromData to retrieve oldMap without a core dump.
The problem with gdomap was solved recently by a patch for closing file descriptors.
The whole report can be closed.
