Details:
Derek Zhou has contributed initial usable implementations and testcases.
Richard Frith-Macdonald has done work on portability especially for windows
and made changes for NSRunLoop integration.
The remaining work is mostly more fixing for windows and then establishing
compatibility with the MacOS-X implementation.
