Yes, this about fonts. In the art backend it seems like fonts are stored with
the Postscript font names. There are also a few extensions there for the
output of glyphs.
As all of this is implemented based in Freetype it should not be too hard to
extract this code into a shared Freetype font class to be used by different
backends.
