Are you sure that what you report as the expected behaviour is what is
happening in Cocoa?
I am very sure that nibinstantiate gets called a lot later there. I can see
how the behaviour you describe is a lot easier to implement correctly and
perhaps we should just go for it now. Still, in the long run we should try to
stay compatible with what Apple does and for that reason, we should document
the real implementation there.
