Follow-up Comment #2, bug #24979 (project gnustep):
I agree. I would still like to understand what they're doing and why.
Naturally the implementation might change over time. There's obviously more
work to do on this front.
I intend on getting through a lot of it in the coming weeks. The solution
I've put into place solves the immediate issue.
I will do more tests to see what the behavior in Cocoa is before closing this
bug.
