Also, look in the /etc/ld.so.conf file to see if there are extra places where libxml might get linked from. openoffice is one place this might happen according to google...

Which is odd, since it appears the previous programs in base linked correctly with xslt. Perhaps there is another version of libxml that gui is finding. Maybe you could send the config.make file in the gnustep-gui directory?
