There has been a bunch of talk recently about IceCat on F-Droid IRC (irc://irc.freenode.net/fdroid) We'd love to have IceCat included, since Firefox on Android includes binary blobs (Google Play Services). Matías has made some progress (I cc'ed him, I don't know if he's on this list).
Matías, maybe you could subscribe to this list, and we can all coordinate getting IceCat into F-Droid: https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-gnuzilla Or perhaps the f-droid forum is a better place: https://f-droid.org/forums/topic/similar-to-gnuzilla-fennec-fdroid I'd really like to see IceCat Android binaries being built from 100% source (i.e. free jars are OK, but not binary blob, unfree jars). With F-Droid, we're working on making reproducible builds a lot easier. So that you'd post your official release, then F-Droid would build and verify that the builds match before including it. .hc > Is the source code easy enough to reuse for an Android variant? > > https://f-droid.org/forums/topic/similar-to-gnuzilla-fennec-fdroid/ > > > > El 04/02/15 a les 06:26, Rubén Rodríguez ha escrit: >> El mar, 03-02-2015 a las 09:24 +0100, Narcis Garcia escribió: >>> Seems a similar project: >>> >>> https://f-droid.org/repository/browse/?fdid=org.mozilla.fennec_fdroid >> >> From what I can tell they just disable the test suit and the crash >> reporter.
