Hi Deri,
I don't know if you found some time to rewrite the font loading in gropdf.
I've worked a bit on another issue on this file generation: as said in my
comment #1, using LC_ALL=C also causes some problems (preconv falls back to
"latin1" encoding). So I'm assigning you this bug and I'll open another bug
for the other problem.
