Follow-up Comment #12, bug #58736 (project groff):
The macro "1c" just moves the vertical output place to where the
outputted text last stopped.
It should move it to the bottom of the longer column.
The patch in the attachment is relative to the master version.
It hopfully fixes bug #58736.
It could also contain some changes for bug #58447 and bug #55081.
Most of the patch are lines with a diagnostic message.
The actual fix is in the macros "1c" and "bc".
