Bertrand recently updated our gnulib.
This did not resolve the problem.
Interestingly, specifying the '-z' option avoids the SEGV, but '-Z' _doesn't_.
So the problem is not occurring in the output driver. The backtrace didn't
suggest that it was, but the still-SEGV-with-'-Z' wrinkle is noteworthy to
me.
