I should add that what alerted me to the .TR macro was this error output:

s.tmac:t.ms:13: error: sorry, .TR not implemented
troff:t.ms:13: warning: expected numeric expression, got
   character 'p'
t.ms:13: Each table (.TBL) should contain at least one table
   row (.TR)!

Should I open a separate issue for this? I don't really know if it is a loop
or the process getting stuck because some system pipe buffer overflow or
whatever but the problem is real.
