OK, I read NEWS file it seems LBA mode is supported from grub-0.5.91.

I'm not sure the current code's status. Can current stage1 directly
launch next loader (stage1.5 or stage2) located over 1024 cylinder
area with LBA mode? Or is LBA mode only spported by stage1.5 or
stage2?
