I looked into Pliant and felt that it was too large and too complex
for a mere boot loader, GRUB. For boot loaders, the memory space is
very limited, typically only some hundreds kilobytes, but the size of
Pliant development environment is over 100KB. Moreover, boot loaders
must provide the minimum sets of OS funtionality for Pliant.
By the way, I'm wondering if an extension language is necessary for
GRUB really or not. What is the benefit from it? Of course, to be able
to extend a software would be better than to be unable, generally
speaking, but all GRUB should do is boot OSes. For the purpose, I
think good implementation in C language would be enough.
