Hello all!

I recently became fed up with LILO, and decided to install grub as my boot
loader for linux. I read the info pages, and visited the web site and read
the FAQ. I have a problem loading linux-2.4.0-test 1 and 2 kernels with
grub, when I select to load one of those kernels from the menu I set up I
get an error:

ran out of input data

--kernel halted

I have kernels 2.2.16 and 2.2.17 on the same system, and they boot fine from
grub. I tested linux 2.4-test1 on a lilo boot disk, and it ran fine. I am
not sure if this is a grub problem since I'm neither a kernel hacker nor a
boot loader hacker.

Here is my disk set up:
(hd0) - FreeBSD
(hd1) - Linux
(hd2) (I think it's hd2, though I've never accessed it from grub so I don't
know (it's on an ATA 66 controller card)) - Windows 2000

When my system boots, I get the FreeBSD loader which has an option for me to
boot the linux drive. With LILO installed on that drive it didn't work, but
grub works fine.

I hope that this is enough information. BTW, nice piece of software!

Sincerely,
Caleb Land
