Out of the SOYO MoBo FAQ: My hard disk is visible in the RAID BIOS, but it does not boot.
Please ensure that the "boot sequence" or "First boot device" in the BIOS is set to SCSI. Hmmm... I will try this at home and kiss you all if it works then :-) I woder _why_ my old Harddisk has bootet from this controller! It had an (initial) lilo MBR on it, which I wrote some time ago when the hdd was connectet as primary slave at the first controller. After I moved it to the hpt372 I noticed _no_ difference (writing new lilo MBRs due to newer kernels). All the time I never switched the boot sequence. Then the hdd died (guess which company!) and the knew WD800JB behaves, well, mysterious :-) But I will look if the answer at the soyo site (which does not explain why the old disk worked...).
