Hello!
Not currently no. Incidentally, since this resembles any of two or three
thousand or so problems that we as users of GRUB-Legacy have seen, please
continue to send the notes to the list. I have included them on the carbon
copy line.

Is it possible to write the image to cd or dvd instead of floppy?

Hello!
This sounds familiar, however I (we) do need to know more about your
server's operating system. Can you tell us what distribution you chose? And
of course if possible if you've made any back up copies the menu list file.

Incidentally there are boot disk images available. They can be obtained from
the Alpha GNU server at ftp://alpha.gnu.org in the gnu/grub directory.
Simply select the one for version 0.97 and then write to a blank floppy,
(3.5 sized disk) of your choice with the dd command using these
instructions, #dd if=<boot disk name> of=/dev/fd0 , where <boot disk name>
becomes the file you've downloaded.

Subject: grub won't boot

Hello,

My server is using grub 0.97. When I try to boot it gets stuck at the
grub shell prompt. I tried the following:

find /boot/grub/stage1, the following appears on the screen:

flie not found.

Perhaps the filesystem is corrupted?

Do I need to reinstall grub?

Thanks in advance!
