Follow-up Comment #1, bug #39523 (project grub):
OK, it is fixed now.
Again rebooting with Fedora 19 Install DVD and instead of doing 'grub2-install
/dev/sda', I did:
grub2-install --recheck /dev/sda
I had done this previously and it had not completed successfully, but this
time was a success.
(Also, as I had done before, I repeated the command with /dev/sdb to hit the
other pair in the software raid1)
Sorry for the bother - its working now.
