Follow-up Comment #1, bug #41005 (project grub):

Hhm, this is very, very odd:

* When I use grub from an usb stick, auto-completion of 'ls' lists hd1 AND I
can boot from it.
* Same for grub4dos.
* But when I use grub from the first disk hd0, auto-completion of 'ls' DOES
NOT list hd1 AND I CANNOT boot from it.

To rule out that my (hd0,msdos1)/boot/grub/grub.cfg is the culprit, I renamed
it /boot/grub/grub2.cfg . This way, I must use the grub command line for
booting, but this is ok for a test ;o) But the problem does not go away :o(
