Hi There.
I just tried to compile cvs guile on a cobalt Qube 3 (intel, 2.2.x
kernel, hacked over RedHat distro) from a "make dist" that I made on my
Debian unstable (latest auto* tools) machine.
None of the *.x files were made and make complained that it didn't know
how. I just added rule to make them.
foo: $(DOT_X_FILES) $(EXTRA_DOT_X_FILES)
and did a "make foo" in the libguile directory. I could then make and
make install. Seems to be working.
automake is 1.4
autoconf is 2.13
libtool is 1.3.4
Is there a problem with these tools? I can't really change them. Well,
I *could*, but I don't want to. Shouldn't the newest auto* tools be
required from building out of cvs?
Could my Debian box be misconfigured? Guile builds and install just
fine there.
