Possibly it was the list in the Hurd source tree. I think it should
be updated so that the user wouldn't be confused.

Not very correct. Your question was if I wanted to update the
drivers to Linux 2.2.x, so I said that I didn't. I'm still interested
in the character device support, which Marcus improved somewhat but
hasn't been completed yet. I just have no time to work on it.
