This is missing the point being raised.

Mike wasn't talking about the hard part (cleaning up the mess), but
about the easy part. Just like projects leave good-first-issues open to
let newcomers take part with a small scale before endeavoring the larger
scales. If AI work on all the low-hanging fruits which are notably there
for people to learn from them, there will be nobody who will have learnt
enough to be able to reach the high-hanging fruits.

I was indeed thinking about that when I read the proposal this morning.
We are not only writing the Hurd just for writing it, but also for
people to write it. Getting AI help for the tedious parts makes sense,
though.
