I agree -- is there any reason we really need autoconf 2.68 instead of 2.67? My system is a Debian Squeeze as well, so I only have 2.67 installed. It was what I had installed (I install everything from source in $HOME/local so..), so I picked that. I'll lower it to 2.67 if that is fine with everyone.
