You probably already noticed this bug, so sorry for this email, but I
tought I may as well drop a line.
It's not a bug in Lilypond, but something that has to do with the
latest version of Tetex, I made a new install of Lily on both my
Fedora3 and XP systems and I had the very same error which is quite a
weird thing, the "return value 256" which has been reported on many
messages in mailing list.
The archives were not working but checking on Google's cache it seemed
to me the very same error happened in many different systems. I solved
on Fedora uninstalling Tetex and reinstalling all old packages version
2.0.2-21: tetex, tetex-dvips, tetex-afm, tetex-latex, tetex-fonts. I
dont know if only one of these packages was responsible for the error,
I just removed all of them and reinstalled old ones and now Lily works
fine.
