\override Staff.VerticalAxisGroup #'minimum-Y-extent
comes in. You can see an example at
http://peftypefty.googlepages.com/jacques6.pdf, where the upper divisi
lyrics have been pushed away as a result of a
#'minimum-Y-extent setting. (upper system, bass part only)

OK. Mmm, let me see...

Can you follow these steps:
- create a new .ly file
- create only two staves
- copy only two measures of your score ( or put some random notes)
- add lyrics (one stave with divisi lyrics, the other without).
- add your override
- copy this code in a mail
- send this mail to the bug-lilypond list, not just to myself (so it
can be archived).

Then I'll either tell you how to correct it, or fill a bug-report on
the tracker.

Good luck! :)

Cheers,
Valentin
