Didi Kanjahn, who posted the initial report, also provided us with some additional
remarks off-list:

- Any font from www.khmeros.info should work just as well as the attached font.

- the people at www.KhmerOS.info got OpenOffice working with Khmer Unicode, so this
should be supported by the latest versions of Pango.

- people at www.sil.org seem to be interested in rendering complex unicode glyphs; their opensource rendering system Graphite is known to greatly empower fonts developers.
