New issue 808 by v.villenave: Enhancement: \textLengthOn mode for Lyrics http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=808 On several occasions, Jiri Zurek has expressed the need for a \textLengthOn-like feature for lyrics. With Lily's current behavior, long syllables that occur after a melisma or a text-less section are may be placed below several notes, which makes it diffult to tell exactly which one of these notes the syllable belongs to. See for instance this picture provided by Jiri, that demonstrates Lily's default behavior and the desired output: http://www.nabble.com/file/p21786429/non_honored_longtext_srovnani.png It is even worse with gregorian music: http://www.nabble.com/file/p21786429/sanctus2.8.4_Srovnani.png Please read Jiri's full post on http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-lilypond/2009-02/msg00004.html and the discussion on http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-user/2009-01/msg00977.html -- You received this message because you are listed in the owner or CC fields of this issue, or because you starred this issue.
