Comment #1 on issue 1060 by tolaythisbodydown: Add Funk-style shape note
heads
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1060
Carl, I was searching for info on how to add new shape-note styles to
Lilypond and
found your work on issue #602. Am delighted to see what you accomplished
there.
I have a copy of the 25th edition of Funk's book in my hands. I can thus
confirm that
whole notes are not any wider than half notes but appear just as they do,
sans the
stem. The horizontal bars on the 'la' head are thicker than the vertical.
As for the
'mi' head, which lines are thick vary depending on the direction of the
stem. When
the stem is up, the SW/NE lines are thick; when the stem is down, the NW/SE
lines are
thick.
Lastly, I would love to see Walker shapes added to Lilypond. If you are
willing, I
can send you scans. (To the best of my knowledge, there are four
seven-shape systems
with continuing traditions: Funk, Aiken, Swan, and Walker. Aiken was first
and is the
most popular. I like Walker best.)
