Comment #1 on issue 1510 by percival.music.ca: DOC: add explanation of
-dlinclude-settings cmd line option
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=1510
If we're going to be picky about it, then we can improve that patch.
1) upload to reitveld, please.
2) if you think the answer is @code{}, then you're asking the wrong
question. I mean, is the final period part of the @code{SETTINGSFILE} ?
In particular, I'd rather see an:
@example
lilypond -dinclude-settings=MY_SETTINGS.ly MY_SCORE.ly
@end example
3) I'm a bad reader of documentation (seriously! whenever I want to
actually learn a new program, I have to volunteer to rewrite their tutorial
in order to force myself to slow down and actually read stuff!). When I
see 5 commas in 3 sentences, I, like, get totally, lost.
4) in general, and particularly here, I'd recommend a half-sentence
introduction like "A global settings file can be specified on the
command-line: @example". Then add a second paragraph where you ramble on
about page sizes or style sheets or the like.
5) speaking of which, could we get a @ref{} back to the Learning x.y Style
sheets ? I think it's particularly relevant to this item.
