Umm, to clarify that: Colin, you were being a perfect Bug Squad member and following the written policy. We had an *unwritten* policy that issues should only be verified with a GUB-release version, but of course you couldn't know about that! :)
I've added the "GUB version" bit to the Contributor's Guide, so the new written policy will be available in 2.13.51. Sorry for my mistake in writing down an incorrect policy in versions 2.13.50 and below!
