curl is looking for SSLv2_client_method , which apparently doesn't exist on
ubuntu 11.10. (Colin's: 64-bit. mine: 32-bit)
no releases happening until that's fixed, because I wanted gcc 4.6 and swig
2.0 for my research. (and no, I wasn't about to try updating the entire
gcc toolchain by myself)
