Here are a couple of images that illustrate using additional parenthesis
inside #'( ... ) to group two ledger lines, so that you get the result in
image "B" rather than the usual image "A". In illustration "B" the two
ledger lines are grouped so when one of them appears, the other one appears
as well.
(This can also be used to achieve thicker, bold ledger lines by grouping
several ledger lines that appear very close together -- just like the trick
for achieving bold staff lines.)
