Follow-up Comment #6, bug #47399 (project make): Regarding licensing: I can't say for sure what CDDL-covered code might have been linked with GNU make on OpenIndiana. However it's most likely simply things such as the C runtime library, since that's about all that GNU make relies on.
In that case, there's no problem because this falls under the "System Library" exception in the GPL, both versions 2 and 3.
