The failure persists. Since I expected it I did not take much care and just invoked "gmake -p". These three files are put on the Swiss server: -rw-r--r--@ 1 pete staff 926497 10 Feb 14:39 /Users/pete/Downloads/GMake-d.log -rw-r--r--@ 1 pete staff 250911 10 Feb 14:39 /Users/pete/Downloads/GMake-p.log -rw-r--r-- 1 pete staff 40859 10 Feb 14:40 /Users/pete/Downloads/Makefile@libgcc I think the particles -d and -p express where they belong to, and @libgcc just says which Makefile it is, the one whose rules should have been followed. They can be retrieved from here: https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/74fdc804-b676-413e-83ac-95be1039600d. The -p log seems to express that GMake did see the dependency to the missing symlink, but I do not yet understand why it was not resolved and only three symlinks were created. -- Greetings Pete The problem with the French is that they don't have a word for « entrepreneur ». – Georges W.
