Thanks for the suggestion. Can you please write the gcc developers to
get their reaction, first? I doubt that rms would impose this behavior
on them against their wishes, and will surely want to know their views
in any case.
Akim and Paul and others: what do you actually think of the idea?
(Personally, I find it pretty reasonable, though the var name would need
some thinking.)
